How to Get Your Google Ads to Show in Google Maps

A two-step process that puts your dental practice in the map results when someone searches for a dentist nearby.

When someone searches for a dentist nearby, ads can appear in the Google Maps results as well as in the normal search results. Getting yours there takes two steps.

Before you start

You need a Google Business Profile for your practice that Google has verified, so your practice already appears in Google Maps.

Step 1: Connect your Business Profile to Google Ads

  1. In your Google Ads account, open the Tools menu and go to Data manager.
  2. Scroll to Featured products and find Google Business Profile.
  3. Click it and follow the prompts to connect.

One thing to watch: the email address on your Business Profile should match the one on your Google Ads account. If it doesn't, add your Google Ads email address as a user on the Business Profile. Then Google can see the two belong together and will let you connect them.

Step 2: Add a location asset to each campaign

  1. Select a campaign.
  2. Go to Assets.
  3. Choose Location, then click the plus icon to create an asset.
  4. Create a new location group, select your location and give the group a name. One location is fine.
  5. Save.

Repeat this for every campaign in your account. You want every campaign to be eligible to show in Maps.
